make america grease again

The next time anyone tries to tell you Trump voters wanted change,

keep in mind that
“change” never meant
“something new and different” or
“something we haven’t tried before.”

Change” meant getting exactly what we are seeing happen right now and have been for the past eighteen months.

Change” meant going backward.
“Change” meant systematically stripping the rights away from anyone who isn’t a straight white middle class male, and making damn sure nobody else got any.

Make America Great Again” was code for
“Hey remember the ’50s? I’ll take you back to that.” The people who voted for Trump wanted that.

They knew if they voted for him, that’s what they were going to get.

And they’re getting it. Don’t make excuses for any of them.

If you think about it, it makes sense that a lot of boomer filmmakers made movies in the late ’70s – early ’90s that seemed to say, “Look at how the fifties were such Happy Days fun times!”

I mean, we all know what would have really happened to Danny and Sandy.
