a rare look behind the scenes at radío flomm: oct 16 in sacramento

What you are doing, there’s nothing like it.”
—Jesse Jones, Sacramento Podcast Festival, STAB! Comedy Theater

Which is kinda true: RADíO FLoMM is sort of a different thing in today’s universe of podcasting, but like all the other FLOMM projects we have going: It’s realllly nothing that new. And this is totally intentional.

From Sacramento, the heart of California and around the world: RADíO FLoMM is in its third season and I’m taking a break from editing episode 3 as I write this. Each themed episode is an ambitious collection of interviews, underground artists, music and comedy – in a format based on something that’s been around for most of the 20th century: Radio.

I will be at Sacramento Hacker Lab next week to discuss how old tech can make things totally new when placed in the right context – and since this is a FLOMM thing, I will have other ‘grassroots’ flommists on hand, an opening act and anything else we can think of before opening whistle blows.

I’ll be talking about making nü from old and how all of this can be used to inspire our next generation to do things they’ve never thought possible, learning old skills using tools available today.

Click on the image below to download and print your own square color flier (or poster) as a PDF; designed in collusion with flommist Briauna Rupert because FLOMM is all about collaboration.

And this is the website where there’s mor information about where to go and how to get there:

My presentation (performance!) is hosted by the awesome Sacramento Interactive Developers Group – who usually covers things a helluva lot newer than wat I’m about to do.

And see you on Wednesday. I guarantee I will say things that maybe you’ll want to hear.
