I get tired and restless over women’s issues.
I get so passionately upset but I don’t know how to convey the message I want. It bothers me on a day to day basis that there’s so much negativity looming around being a woman. That there is no upheaval that we hold women to. A pedestal that should be ours is one in celebration of the beauty women embody.
Plenty of this resides in my own experiences, darkness mixed with friends who turn a blind eye or utter words stating they believed in gossip, a falsity.
And it’s not just this one issue, several go leaps and bounds around the world. To extremes of mutilation to saving the victims in which I see a correlation of the same message done in #bodyshaming and #slutshaming.
We tell women to be ashamed of their bodies, tell them to not unveil the beautiful process of feeding the life they gave birth to, tell them they need these clothes and how dare it be these clothes for it will evoke, how dare you have this body part because it evokes, and how dare you go out unprotected in some way, and how dare you trust!
There’s no trust in this society because there is no grounds in which people stand and hold others to. We try. But we don’t have answers and for what we don’t have answers, we lock away undiscussed, left to continue breeding as a sickness over the world we share.
It’s hard to overcome something when the snakes fangs are still in you. And they won’t let go. And as you try and pull them off another quickly charms its way in. I only hope for a day it will change.
