Still at home? Got some down time? Good.

Do this: Keep pen and pa­per handy and re­watch a cou­ple of your fa­vorite movies.

Write down a few notes about what you re­al­ly love above each movie and why you love it.

Re­search the di­rec­tor or writ­ers and then watch a few more from that pro­duc­tion cir­cle.

Re­al­ly study your own faves and work on un­der­stand­ing what it is you en­joy about them so you can con­tin­ue to pur­sue that vein of cre­ativ­i­ty.

Then make some­thing.

Any­thing. Scrib­ble. Sketch. Does your wardrobe match any of the films? Change an ac­ces­so­ry. Then imag­ine new col­ors for a room.

Wash your face. Think about wa­ter and where it comes from.

Or­der a food item based on some­thing you saw.

Write a note. Write a poem. Take some pho­tos.

Pon­der your scrib­bles, notes, wet face.

Prune some plants. Add a new flavour to a left­over food dish you didn’t quite like and see if it helps. Make it bit­ter – so you’ll be hun­gry when your food ar­rives.

Eat, clean up and then take out the garbage and look around. How does it feel? What do you hear? What is the weath­er like?

Go in and make some­thing about that. Shoot a video of what­ev­er you just did.
