FLOMM is not just art, not just a game, we’re into all forms of expressionist rudeness … and buried within the history of the Futurists is a bunch of NOISE.
Yes, Russolo was punk rock before punk rock. And over here in Sacramento some of us have own noisy ruckuses:
The NORCAL NOISEFEST, founded in 1995, is the longest-running experimental music festival in the US.
NOISEFEST is dedicated to promoting noise,
power electronics, harsh noise, ambient, glitch, and musique concrete –
with a bunch of FLOMMISTS floating amongst the 50 or so band participants.
NORCAL NOISEFEST is a three day festival and this year it happens 6–8 OCTOBER 2017 in Sacramento.
Lineup includes flommist USTAM (seen above), Sidewalk Brujeria, Davy Bui, Tarantula Princess, Naked Emperor, Cut SHutters, Sea Moss, C.J. Borosque, Skrunt Skrunt, J3M5, Pulsating Cyst, Humanfluidrot, Filthmilk, Liver Cancer, Xome, Vertonen Uberkunst, Eurostache, Fischkopf Sinfoniker and MANY many MOR.
As per usual, each NOISEFEST has a slew new media, tees, buttons, earplugs (of course!) and a compilation album.
And added on, this year’s NOISEFEST will also feature a Sunday simulcast by UBUIBI RADIO, and all three days will feature a remote WiFi server called the PIRATE BOX, allowing Noisefest visitors to upload and download audio, video files and other media via mobile devices.
The NORCAL NOISEFEST schedule and performer bios available HERE.
Show up, make Russolo proud!
