Somehow this was all double booked.
But,
going on Thursday 10 November 2017 in the Sacramento area, a bunch of flommists have jumped into putting on the following:
1.
Activism Articulated’s Altars for Justice Project
at The Crocker Museum, Sacramento, California
This is a one day community based art project to bring awareness to social justice issues with a special focus on police brutality.
Sol Collective for art-making that will get you thinking. DJ Novela, Rasar Amani, Paul Willis and CatchaKoala drop beats that speak, plus an open mic and socially conscience art and performances will get you talking.
Altars for Justice is part of ArtMix | Howl, designed to help move onward and upward! It is all about having a voice. Enjoy food and drink discounts during happy hour from 5 – 6 p.m. and $5 drink specials all night.
ArtMix is for guests 21+.
2.
LASER: New Conversations in Art + Science
Absurity, Zebrafish + The Microbiome
with M.A.R.S., Megan Dennis, Matthias Hess
at The Art Annex Room 107, UC Davis, Davis, California
Unexpected talks, more FLOMM than academic. Experimental, new.
The Leonardo Art, Science, Evening Rendezvous (LASER) talks at UC Davis are evening presentations that engage the public as participants in conversations with artists, designers, scientists, and technologists making significant contributions to their fields.
The evenings are designed to encourage unexpected juxtapositions between unrelated projects, facilitating the interdisciplinary conversations that engage the challenges of the 21st century.
PICK ONE or THE OTHER.
SEE YOU at ONE or (somehow?) BOTH.
