Me the past week, learning about – or trying to wrap my head around – meme culture, groypers, transmaxxing, etc., and missing the person I was before all this.
And yet … also oddly curious and intrigued.
Kinda like how I am about serial killers and cults (which this kinda is).
Not sure how many of you are on tiktok if at all, but it is the best place to learn random stuff like this, and I’ve listened to a few creators about this.
But today I found one who really breaks things down in an almost academic way and I’m hooked.
It’s so damn hard to understand.
I’ve never felt so old in my entire life, and also so completely out of touch.
But in a good way. Because I’m glad what I thought was being chronically online isn’t actually being chronically online.
But I feel like not knowing about any of this is why it’s gotten to this point and helped bring us here.
Because of course it’s this underground kind of thing.
Unfortunately, it’s just having a lot of real world impacts now.
Anyway, if any of my fellow weirdos want to take a deep dive into all this with an intelligent guide, check out MisterFoxwell on TT. I just found that he has a Substack, too. Same name.
It’s heavy, confusing, dark, and leaves you with a general sense of WTFedness.
But if you’re like me, and have always struggled with the darker side of humanity because you just don’t understand it, but that’s why you NEED to study it in a feeble attempt to understand, here’s a good jumping off point.
I had no idea how very fcked the internet can be, and how fcked we all are now as a result.
*shudders*
