SO THE SECRET TO BEING AN ARTIST IS THIS:
Your first piece will usually suck,
so will your second piece,
probably third and so on.
The only way to get past this is to NOT GIVE UP and just KEEP GOING. PLOW THROUGH. NO FEAR. Because the GÜD stuff will never happen if you give up. NEVER.
“I ain’t fraid no art.”

PRACTICE MAKES GOOD is one my my favorite sayings and frankly, using the 31 Days in October as practice is as great as anything. AND THIS YEAR, we’ve decided to AMP #inktober’s approach up a notch.
“It has always been easier to destroy than to create. Not anymore; now we can do both at the same time!”
–Leonard McCoy, DDS
It’s been a few years since I’ve taught my experimental design course, which included random assignments pulled quite literally out of a random index in a random history book selected almost randomly from a random library downstairs.
And this included having students destroy their own work and the work of others. Like street artists spraying over other street artists, or as simple as scribbling over a photo in a magazine.
I totally blanked on Inktober until things started showing up in feeds last week. I simply asked RADíO FLOMM collaborator Milk Surface, you have any ideas for a FLOMM version of INKTOBER — ?
And #erasetober was his response.
He had a list in a few days, I grabbed some random history materials, we combined, added, erased, threw up a teaser and had it posted The Friday Before October just as a flat tire put me out of commission, sitting in a mostly-empty parking garage for 5 hours waiting for AAA help – a non-working automated phone service my only company. I could receive, but not send. None of their arrival notes were accurate. My wife sent me dinner via Doordash, the confused look on the Dasher’s face was worth the odd predicament.
“I can’t draw!”
—rationale for many students afraid their first piece of art will suck
#erasetober is just like #inktober but amped up a bit. With several PROMPTS best solved via Google searches.
And your tech can be as simple as an eraser or as complex as
