era of honesty

Psssst:
My gen­er­a­tion was born in an era where par­ents aren’t on their kids to be het­ero mar­ried at 16. And that’s okay.

It’s an era of hon­esty, and what a bless­ing that you don’t have to waste your time on some­one not in­ter­est­ed in your gen­der, fam­i­ly, fu­ture, in­ti­ma­cy, or just you.

In­ti­ma­cy and com­mit­ment are things I see my friends have.

9 friends, not count­ing their part­ners or a re­la­tion­ship twice, come to mind that are present­ly in long term com­mit­ments, not ac­count­ing for sin­gle friends that had them.

And I have in­ti­ma­cy and com­mit­ment in my life, even if it looks noth­ing like yours or theirs.

Stop seek­ing it in bars and apps. It’s not there.

And stop blam­ing those of us you would have hat­ed be­ing stuck to any­way.
