What feels like back­slid­ing may ac­tu­al­ly just be the nat­ur­al course of some­thing old un­rav­el­ing … you’re still mov­ing for­ward.

 

They name my kind as hav­ing a “bit­ter­sweet con­di­tion”

… a near-con­stant melan­choly that nev­er­the­less brings with it awe, won­der, and con­tent­ment in find­ing depth.

Some days it is not easy for me to be awake — no mat­ter where I go, and how much beau­ty and love I ab­sorb, my safest place re­mains draw­ing, alone.

 

But I love every mo­ment I have and aim only to in­creas­ing­ly wel­come the en­tire range of the heart­break­ing­ly beau­ti­ful ex­pe­ri­ences we get, deeply and pro­found­ly, all of it.

 

When I am old and grey, you can come vis­it me on the moun­tain of qui­et joy I will have built by then.
