I was reading a book from the 1920s and jumped when I saw a spider that had been squished between the pages.
So flat, he’s nearly a part of the paper.
And then I realized that it had likely been dead in the pages of that book longer than I have been alive,
and suddenly it was kind of endearing.
He remains on page 125.
