we put poets on billboards in sacramento

Went on a hunt and found the bill­board last night. 

It’s of­fi­cial­ly Sac Po­et­ry Week season!

I just wan­na pub­licly give these two their flow­ers. @MsCamilleJanae in­spired me so much this year be­tween her ded­i­ca­tion to her craft and the in­no­va­tion and tra­jec­to­ry of Out the Way on J with Dre‑T. That joint at the Memo­r­i­al was historic.

Grace Loesch­er and her art have been keep­ing peo­ple alive in this city for over a decade. Be­tween her award-win­ning writ­ing and per­for­mance, but also through The Cre­ation Dis­trict and Speak Out Sac and The Switch and back­yard Hamil­ton and so much more. 

This year wasn’t as much fun as last year be­cause this year I told them they’d be on the bill­board first, but let this be the start­ing gun for next year for the po­ets around the city.
