warmest regards

Mad­ness
is de­cid­ed­ly a per­son­al af­flic­tion,
though these days it seems quite epi­dem­ic,
to the ex­tent of ap­pear­ing apoc­a­lyp­tic.

In these,
my wan­ing years,
I find great com­fort in books;

how­ev­er,
my tastes are evolv­ing,
as the cur­rent state of world af­fairs is suf­fi­cient­ly hor­rif­ic as to ren­der my brain in­dif­fer­ent to cos­mic hor­ror.

I look for­ward to re­turn­ing to a state of some­what nor­mal­cy,
but where IS san­i­ty to be found?

It cer­tain­ly ap­pears bleak,
but hope re­mains alive amidst the com­pa­ny of friends and the com­pan­ion­ship of my cat.
