I am just old enough to re­mem­ber the late 70s and the cul­tur­al tone of the time.

One thing I re­mem­ber was the word “Nixon.”

At the time it was a word that meant a lot of things:
It was a punch­line, it was an in­sult, it was a slight.

It be­came cul­tur­al short­hand for a lot of things, none of them very good.

“Sat­ur­day Night Mas­sacre.”
“David Frye.”
“David Frost.”
“Hunter S. Thomp­son.”

If we get through this in one piece I think “Trump” is go­ing to make “Nixon” in the late 70s seem quaint by com­par­i­son.
