our stupid

Nothing shows just how full of racists, bigots, and other deplorables the Sacramento Valley is than reading the comments on KCRA 3 or ABC10 Facebook news posts.

The responses here that are downright giddy about the BLM leader being gunned down in New Orleans this week make me sick.

It’s one of the most difficult parts about living here for me … Being surrounded by this much hate and ignorance.

This is not the liberal minded region we grid dwellers wish it was.

This is also part of an ongoing Kimberstudy on how red this area is. There’s a misconception that Sacramento is all blue and left leaning, and it’s really not. Especially not as a region.

The reactions and comments to certain high profile stories regarding race, immigration, rights for marginalized communities, and 45 are all VERY telling. And let’s just say that the longer this regime is in place and empowering assholes, this region is really giddy about showing its true colors.

This is THE central reason for my frustration with living here. It is such a red area of a mainly blue state, even though we are the capital. The downtown midtown grid may skew more purple, but compared to where I grew up – San Francisco Bay Area – we are full on Trump country.

And it’s gross.
