game over 2016

I’m a lit­tle con­cerned with all this talk about 2016 be­ing the worst, as though when the year goes every­thing is sud­den­ly go­ing to dis­ap­pear back into the box with it, Ju­man­ji style.

It’s not “2016.” It’s now. Now is the time when the world is go­ing to hell.

And now is also the time to con­sid­er that we can’t sus­tain as pas­sive ob­servers and com­men­ta­tors any longer. There was a real, tan­gi­ble se­quence of events that led us here, and that will lead us into the fu­ture.

You’re not sep­a­rate from the re­al­i­ty that you live in, you’re ac­tive­ly cre­at­ing it, all the time.

Please try to re­mem­ber that, as an au­da­cious TV per­son­al­i­ty takes charge of the free world: We al­lowed this to hap­pen.

2016 isn’t the worst. We are.

Let’s re­solve to work on that, eh?
