I sincerely miss the days of the encyclopædia

I am able to feel incredible gratitude to the universe for letting me be alive before the insanity of the Internet exploded out in a billion different directions

I remember burying my face in about 50 different encyclopædias when working on projects for elementary school
And getting completely enthralled by every other subject than the one I should have been researching the most at that time

I had physical volumes of varying published years full of anything and everything the written and exposed parts the world had to offer

I remember learning about historically significant people and of varying devices of manual technology

I reflect often
on this era of social media
And the immense number of people presented on the Internet today is staggering

It’s not what we’re used to as such a young species
We were more interested in learning and progressing and hearing stories and exploring other cultures and of the different materials and tools being made

And we did progress

evolve

And then we progressed an infinite amount of times quicker than ever before due to the creation of advanced technology

We are growing our exterior forces and forces of thought
And yet our biological bodies are still largely subject to decay

How well
              I wonder
can our brains function during this infinite expanse of social media

interaction

And how soon
until we reach the point
where our conscious mind
can exist
outside
of our bio-matter?

It is a seemingly natural evolution to have created the next step in our humanity
to ascend natural entropy

Newton’s Second Law of Thermodynamics

And combine with our own enhanced creation of digital technology

Metal will still rust and decay
Plastics will slowly but surely break down under the immense heat from our planet when it finally renews itself and becomes molten
eventually burning down and then cooling down
into a frozen rock

once again
